I would like to use an SATA controller in my servers. Just wondering if
someone could share their SATA success stories?

someone could share their SATA success stories?

I have had good luck with a Dell PERC5/i (LSI) SATA/SAS RAID controller
in a whitebox system running various AMD-64 -current. The MB is an ASUS
A8N32-SLI Deluxe.

The controller enumerates as mfi(4) however the driver makes the
controller show as a SCSI controller.

From dmesg:

mfi0: logical drives 2, version 5.0.2-0003, 256MB RAM
scsibus1 at mfi0: 64 targets, 8 luns per target
